Kim Lewicki
MMFT, BN, RN, GNC (C)
Associate Therapist

Hello, my name is Kim Lewicki and I am an Associate Therapist at Thrive Counselling. I hold both a Clinical Master degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and a Bachelor of Nursing degree. I also hold a certificate of competence in gerontological nursing from the Canadian Nurses Association. I am a member of the Canadian Association for Marriage and Family Therapists.

From a systemic view, I believe we all need and want to relate to others. Our connections provide us with safety and security. For many people, it can be difficult to create and keep these connections for several reasons.

I work with individual adults, couples and families (with teenage or adult children) and almost adults.  I have 25 years experience working with mental health issues including personality disorders and borderline personality, life cycle changes, disordered eating, aging and chronic illness, death and loss of a child and loved one, women’s issues and relationship issues including infidelity. I love working with family of origin issues.

I work from an attachment-based model to help heal the wounds that hurt us from becoming that person we always wanted to be as an individual and within our relationships. This is client centered and strength based. My approach is a blend of therapy models including EFT, Gottman, Bowen, IFS, CBT and DBT.

It takes courage and strength to reach out, be vulnerable and be willing to consider change.  I endeavor to form a secure therapeutic alliance with you to create trust to lead to meaningful change and help you heal and bring harmony back into your life.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my spouse and our teenage sons, keeping fit and active, gardening, baking, cooking and travelling.
