Associate Therapist
Hi, I’m Cheryl, an Associate Therapist at Thrive Counselling. I am a certified member of the CCPA and a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) with over 15 years of experience as a guidance counsellor for children. I’ve also spent the last two years working as a therapist seeing adults, teens, and families.
Utilizing a creative and intuitive approach, I help individuals overcome obstacles and rediscover their zest for life. I specialize in cognitive behavioural therapy, solution-focused techniques, and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming therapy). Additionally, I incorporate EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) tapping and visualization methods to help clients break free from negative beliefs and patterns. I will be working with teens, adults and families.
I hold a certificate in Expressive Arts and am skilled in integrating art therapy into my practice. My educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Manitoba and a Bachelor of Education degree from Brandon University. I’ve also completed my Post-Baccalaureate and Master’s degree in Educational Psychology.
In my spare time I play guitar, drum and sing and make jewelry and mosaic art.
I am deeply compassionate and committed to creating a safe, supportive environment for my clients. It would be both an honour and a privilege to work with you.
