Hardeep Dhaliwal
MA Counselling Psychology
Hi, I am Hardeep Dhaliwal, an Associate Therapist at Thrive Counselling. I have a Master of Counselling Psychology and I am a professional member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I have a heartfelt passion for supporting adults through life’s emotional challenges. I believe healing begins in spaces where we feel safe, seen, and accepted—without judgment or pressure to be anything other than who we are.
I am fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, and am able to speak, understand, read, and write in all three. I welcome clients who feel more comfortable expressing themselves in their native language.
As an immigrant to Canada, I deeply understand the complexities of transition, identity, and belonging. My own journey has shaped my commitment to helping others feel grounded and empowered in their healing process. With warmth, empathy, and steady presence, I invite clients into a space of self-compassion, reflection, and meaningful growth. Having immigrated to Canada a few years ago, I bring not only professional experience but also lived understanding of cultural transitions and resilience.
Before stepping into the world of counselling, I worked a physiotherapist, customer service, and social support. These experiences taught me to truly listen, respond with care, and honour every person’s lived experience. Today, I work with adults experiencing anxiety, stress, burnout, low self-worth, trauma, and postpartum emotional challenges. My goal is to support you in finding clarity, resilience, and a renewed sense of self. I’m guided by empathy, respect, and authenticity. I create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and valued. My work is rooted in trust, collaboration, and ethical practice, supporting each individual’s growth and self-discovery at their own pace and in their own way.
I work collaboratively with each client to create a safe and supportive space, helping you reconnect with your body, emotions, and values. Together, we can explore patterns, heal from past wounds, and develop sustainable strategies for emotional well-being. My approach is holistic, integrative, and person-centered. I draw from:
• Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), IFS
• Somatic Therapy and Nervous System Regulation
• Motivational Interviewing (MI) for chronic illness and mental health
• Trauma-Informed and Strength-Based Practices
• Gottman Method Couples Therapy
• Mindfulness and Lifestyle-Based Interventions
I work with adult individuals of all genders and backgrounds who are navigating:
• Anxiety, stress, and burnout, Depression
• Trauma and post-traumatic stress (from any cause)
• Postpartum depression and emotional recovery
• Perfectionism and low self-worth
• Life transitions, identity, and cultural adjustment
• Relationship issues and couple concerns.
I love music and use it as a personal and therapeutic outlet.
If you are ready to explore your inner world and move toward healing, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
