About Lori-Ann
Lori-Ann Soja
BA, MMFT
Associate Therapist
Hello and thanks for stopping by! My name is Lori-Ann (Lori) and I’m an associate therapist at Thrive Counselling. I hold a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Winnipeg. I’m also a member of the Canadian Association for Couples and Family Therapy (CACFT).
Life can be complicated, and understanding our thoughts, feelings, and behaviours isn’t always easy. I aim to provide a supportive space where you can pause, reflect, and explore the challenges that may be holding you back from living the life you want. My goal is to build a strong therapeutic relationship centered on compassion, acceptance, curiosity, and authenticity, that makes room for both meaningful conversations and a little humour.
My approach to therapy is grounded in attachment theory, recognizing how our early relationships and life experiences can shape the way we understand ourselves, connect with others, and navigate the world. I take an integrative and collaborative approach, drawing on trauma-informed and person-centred practices to honour your unique experiences, strengths, and needs. Together, we’ll explore patterns that no longer serve you, build resilience, and develop practical tools to support your emotional well-being, personal growth, and create meaningful change.
I began my journey in the helping field working in nonprofit organizations focused on providing support to children and adults within Manitoba. I enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families. I strive to be a lifelong learner, developing my self-awareness and being evidence based in my clinical work.
Outside of the therapy room you can find me spending time with my family and friends, discovering new trails with our golden retriever (who usually leads the way), and dreaming up the next travel adventure whenever the opportunity arises. I love collecting memories along the way and embracing the occasional detour – both on the trail and in life.
If you think I’d be a good fit on your healing journey, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I would be honoured to learn more about you!
