Saranjit Dhaliwal
BRMCD,
MA Counselling Psych., CCC,
Associate Therapist

Hello, I’m Saranjit (Sara) Dhaliwal, a Certified Canadian Counsellor (CCC) and member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Recreation Management and Community Development from the University of Manitoba.

I work with children ages 4 and up, adolescents, adults, and families, offering play-based therapy, family therapy, and individual counselling through a person-centered and compassionate approach. I believe therapy should feel supportive, flexible, and collaborative—not one-size-fits-all. To best meet each client’s needs, I integrate evidence-based approaches including Mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal, and Solution-Focused therapies.

I have had the privilege of supporting individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief and loss, self-esteem, identity concerns, life transitions, school-related challenges, and relationship or family dynamics. I also work with individuals experiencing disordered eating or a difficult relationship with food and body image, approaching this work with care, curiosity, and compassion. My goal is to help clients reconnect with themselves in a way that feels balanced, respectful, and sustainable. I am fluent in English and Punjabi, which allows me to offer culturally responsive care and reduce language barriers for clients and families.

I believe meaningful healing begins with feeling safe, seen, and understood. I strive to create a nonjudgmental, warm, and collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences at their own pace. I meet clients where they are in their journey and work alongside them to build insight, strengthen coping skills, and move toward goals that matter to them. When appropriate, I incorporate Recreation Therapy and play-based interventions to encourage creativity, emotional expression, and connection—especially when working with children and families.

Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy traveling and learning about new cultures, playing volleyball, and spending quality time with family and friends while prioritizing self-care.

If you’re looking for a therapist who values authenticity, collaboration, and compassion, it would be an honor to support you or your family as you navigate your healing and growth.
