About Sebastian
Sebastian Szajt
MACP Practicum Student
Hello, my name is Sebastian, and I am a practicum student therapist at Thrive Counselling.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Manitoba and I am a student member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA).
Life can become overwhelming at times, whether it involves school, work, relationships, or personal struggles. I believe that even through difficult experiences, people are capable of learning more about themselves, growing, and finding ways to move forward.
I’m interested in working with people who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to go next, as well as individuals who may think or process the world differently. I have personal experience and I understand some of the challenges that can come with ADHD and neurodiversity, including struggles with attention, emotions, motivation, and feeling misunderstood by others.
I am also passionate about supporting young adults who might be struggling with anxiety, depression, loneliness, emotional regulation, self-esteem, or unhealthy coping strategies. Many people want support but often feel pressure to handle things on their own. I am also interested in changing the narrative around guilt, blame and shame.
I work within the framework of an integrative therapy model including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused and Narrative. I work with adults of all ages.
My goal is to help you reflect, better understand yourself, and work through both internal and external challenges in a way that feels manageable and realistic.
Outside of my work and studies, I enjoy playing guitar, following soccer, and learning about different topics, such as science, history, and random facts about the world. If there’s something you’re passionate about, I’d love to hear about it.
I look forward to the opportunity to connect and work together.
