About Sheila
Sheila Jensen
BS, MA, CCC, RMFT
Associate Therapist
I am a Canadian Certified Counsellor and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist. I received my master’s degree in Psychological Counselling, specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy.
With over four years of experience providing psychosocial therapeutic support to children, youth, adults, couples and families. I bring a strong foundation in culturally responsive, client-centered care, along with a deep commitment to providing comprehensive mental health support across diverse settings.
I have worked extensively in school-based settings (grades K-12), supporting clients with a wide range of diagnoses, including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Trauma, Intellectual Disabilities, Depression, ADHD, and more.
Building on this foundation, I transitioned into private practice to further expand my skills and experience. In this setting, I have worked with individuals facing Personality Disorders, Eating Disorders, Grief, Sex Addiction, and other complex mental health concerns. I pride myself on working with all ages and all demographics.
I also enjoy working closely with couples and families to foster stronger connections, improve communication, and create a more harmonious and supportive home environment.
I create a safe, welcoming space where every client feels comfortable expressing themselves openly. I tailor each session to meet the unique needs and goals of my clients, using an empathetic, non-judgmental approach and selecting therapeutic modalities that best support their personal journey.
I hold certifications from PESI in ADHD care, complex trauma, and mindfulness. I have also completed continuing education courses in eating disorders, narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, PARTs work, the Gottman Method, anxiety and depression, and Internal Family Systems.
When working with children, I embrace play therapy as a key approach, thoughtfully integrating it into sessions to create a comfortable and supportive environment for my young clients.
I take great pride in working with clients of all ages—from children as young as three to adults and seniors. I believe that effective therapy begins with meeting each person exactly where they are, tailoring my approach to fit their unique needs. I look forward to supporting you on your journey and hope to welcome you to a session soon.
