About Tannis Allman

Hello, I’m Tannis Allman, the Office Coordinator at Thrive Counselling.

I bring over 20 years of leadership and supervisory expertise from my career in the insurance industry. I have held various roles in claims operations, call centres, health and dental claims, out-of-country claims, and after-hours emergency calls for medical emergencies and case management. I also worked in product development and maintenance for group and individual insurance offerings. Additionally, I have extensive experience in the hospitality and retail industries. One of my first part-time jobs was at the age of 13, working at a senior citizens’ home doing dietary and housekeeping duties. As a teen, I took on fun jobs such as camp leader, swim instructor, and lifeguard.

I have always loved connecting with people of all ages. I enjoy conversations and listening to stories about everyday life. I’m passionate about customer service and building relationships based on trust and compassion. I never judge and am always here to help. When my kids were young, our home was always open to others. There was never a limit to the number of people who needed a warm, safe place to stay—whether for one night or many. Our living room, bedrooms, and any extra space we had served as beds, air mattresses, or a safe spot for someone to lay their head. We ensured they felt cared for, with full bellies, as I also love to cook and bake.
